"I loved the age of the building, dating in parts from 1470, and fitting in with the historical architecture and atmosphere of Bruges. My spacious room overlooked the canal, which was a treat. The hotel is a short walk from the city centre and a perfect base for exploration on foot. The breakfast buffet selection is excellent. All the staff members I met were extremely helpful and friendly."

"Service and facilities can't be faulted. It was excellent and made my stay enjoyable. Besides the excellent service, it is affordable and well situated, being 10 minutes or so walk from most of the important sights and restaurants. The rail station is also a 15-20min walk away, while a bus stop/interchange is 5 minutes walk away. One downside noted was the strong smell of old sewerage pipes in a section of the corridor immediately after the reception desk. I appreciate that this often can be a problem in old buildings, but until this is fixed, I would recommend the hotel place some candles in the area, which should burn-off/mask the smell. Would I recommend the hotel, yes! "

"Sophie on the reception desk was fabulous. She provided loads of information on places to go and to eat. She also arranged an early check in for us. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast were friendly and efficient. Shame the bar was closed, but otherwise great. Thank you. "

"Perfect situation behind the belfry"

"Had a wonderful stay. Room was ready early and it was very large with many traditional features. Bed was very comfy and ample supplies when the room was remade. Staff were great and very accommodating and there is luggage storage letting you make the most of any time before you leave It’s on the canal at Jan Van Aik square, away from the busier streets but only 5 mins from the main square. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a great breakfast spot @Toastie nearby "
