"The Apex is in an very good location for walking to sites and restaurants. The staff is excellent and amongst our family we had 3 rooms, which were very clean and comfortable. We had dinner one night at their restaurant which was also very good. We would highly recommend this hotel."

"Weekend staff were amazing. On Monday the chef was extremely rude and condescending when was told that the coffee machine had run out of coffee and when was requested for a fried egg. She literally snapped at my son when he asked for a fried egg. Not impressed at all! Otherwise this hotel deserves a 5 star rating all over "

"My first solo night stay and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience here! All the staff were lovely and made me feel very welcome. I booked this place on the day of travel at a very reasonable price, and they were still accommodating enough to give me a later check out time with no extra charge. The guy on the night shift was an absolute legend and chatted to me for a while when I got back from a night out, he immediately made me feel at ease. Please pass on a good word for him from me! No complaints with the room itself either. It was a decent size and very clean despite having mixed reviews. Comfortable/soft bed, plenty of storage and a full length mirror. The location is right in the heart of the bars, restaurants and shops, but secluded enough to provide privacy. I was out for majority of the night so I can’t comment on the noise, but the courtyard seems to separate the street from the place very well to drown some of this out. I felt very safe with separate keys for the gate, the reception and my room. If I wanted to be nitpicky, the shower pressure wasn’t amazing and there was no hand soap in the room, but this wasn’t an issue as I’d brought my own. The room was very warm and they provide a small fan for this. I can imagine on the hotter days this would be uncomfortable as there is limited airflow. My stay at Brooks really surprised me, I feel like this is a hidden gem. It was exactly what I needed and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again."

"We stopped over for one night with our two kids and our dog. The staff could not have been more friendly, and they were very helpful in giving us advice about places and events to check out in Bristol. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were glad we had booked one of the rooms with air conditioning as it was a warm night: we had cool air in the bedroom, and thanks to underfloor heating our feet were still nice and warm on the tile floor in the bathroom. We were impressed with how dog friendly the hotel was, with water bowl by the front door and treats on the reception desk. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable time and great value for money. We will be staying again!"
