First time when we visited Tenuta Mazzetta we were taken by the tranquility of this place - amazing pool, beautiful gardens, very friendly and welcoming staff and this rustic farmy feel. This year we were positively surprised how much care the staff puts in to this place. "Hotel has THE prime position on the harbour front. It is typical old style Italian, however parts are now looking a bit "tired" and whole building inside & out is in need of some TLC & refurbishment without losing its essential style & character. Place is very clean & staff are helpful. Breakfast has a vast array of cold buffet for continental b'fast lovers but hot food limited to scrambled egg + 1 other item. "An unhappy experience. When we arrived at our hotel we were told it was closed due to a "technical problem" and that we were booked in a different hotel. While the other hotel was very well situated, it was tired looking, no wi-fi in the rooms, and we had the worst room in the hotel, looking out on a service courtyard instead of a sea view. Heating rails in the bathroom did not work. No window or extractor fan in the bathroom either."
