A lovely hotel on the edge of an AONB and the Quantock Hills rwally are a lovely part of the world. We had a great walk via Bicknoller Post to the village of Bicknoller and back by a different path. Food was lovely and we had some good wine

Second time we have stayed at Combe House. Once again the facilities were very good, the staff were efficient and polite and service quality was excellent. We dined in the evening and the menu had sufficient variety and the food was very good. A quiet hotel in lovely surroundings. Highly recommended

Comfortable country house hotel.
A good three-day break in a comfortable hotel in a beautiful country setting. Food was tasty and well presented. Icing on the cake was the wonderful staff who were welcoming and attentive.

The hotel was full of character, charm and extremely welcoming. Our room was perfect and was very clean and comfortable. The staff upon our welcome, right through to our goodbye were very helpful and polite. We'd also like to say a specific thank you to the lady on Reception on Tuesday morning who helped us to arrange booking a taxi! The lack of phone signal was actually a welcome benefit, allowing us to 'switch off' and enjoy the surrounding countryside, which even on a rainy Tuesday was beautiful. Thank you so much again for your hospitality and making us feel so welcome!

A charming but somewhat tired hotel, the room allocated was very nice clean, warm and a lovely comfortable bed, The Sunday Carvery dinner menu was disappointing, the roast potatoes were awful, but to be fair, the meat was plentiful and tender.

Nice stay, but not the room booked with this site
Nice 4-nights stay, however the room did not match our previous stay nor the photos of a superior room on both the hotel's site and this site. It was very much a 'second division' smaller "superior" room and did not match the details given on this site as it did not have a bath and was not on the 'riverside'. The room's design felt cramped and only had a small shower room. This was relayed to reception on arrival and we had to chase the owner twice who apparently was unable to change our room, but did not feel obliged to inform us. He did advise us it is always best to book direct with the hotel making us feel that we were penalised by booking with this site. Overall we felt a lack of empathy and willingness to resolve. Our booking was made back in February, ample time to allocate an appropriate room. Having stayed before, we were very much looking forward to a spacious superior room with a bath, this obviously detracted from potentially being an excellent stay at a nice hotel in a great location and a good restaurant. We feel very let down having booked this hotel through this site.

Simply Stunning
Stayed for two nights in this amazing place with nice friendly staff, fantastic food and lovely views with amazing places to walk even with Covid it felt very safe, we stayed here a few weeks ago when it was warmer but wanted to go back to see the autumn colours and it did not disappoint. This is now our new favourite Hotel so hope to get back soon.

We arrived for a pre Wedding anniversary break; on arrival we were asked who we were ; then we sent you a email oh I never received it probably in your junk : the bar & restaurant are not open ; wished we known as would of cancelled ( the whole idea of a break is to go out & about & come back where you can relax have a nice meal & drink enjoying your surroundings) Is Pub down the rd is open. Or drive to mine head Go to our room very nice but not a river view that room stated Realizling

A true hidden gem
Combe House Hotel is a real find, a hidden gem. It's gorgeous, set in stunning surroundings, and run by an absolutely lovely couple. Everything about my stay was perfect, from the welcome to the food to the room and the surprisingly good wifi connection. I will 100% be back soon.

A great overnight stop 45mn from Bristol airport
very nice country house, nice decoration, very nice people and good foods. I particularly loved the fine bone China saucers and teacups, and the friendly crowd.
