The staff at the resort was excellent! Wonderful service and they would always greet us with a smile. The room was fantastic as well though dining was quite expensive. The breakfast spread was decent and the resort did make efforts to change some dishes every day. Kudos to the staff at the residence! We would love to go back again.

The resort is very nice and on the ocean. The staff is helpful and friendly. We had a villa with its own plunge pool but it was a very steep set of stairs to go down and up. Tough on anyone with mobility issues. Food was good. Some general notes: the place is very remote so other than resort arranged tours, you won’t be getting out. That means all meals on premises. The various structures are far enough that the resort offers buggy (golf cart) rides. Walking is fine unless it’s raining, then the paths flood and become very slippery. At the time of our stay, there was construction which went on during the day and you can hear a piercing drilling sound. Since we were out more than in, we didn’t say anything. It’s probably one of the nicest resorts on the island and there’s plans to build on another nearby island. If you go to Bintan and just want to relax at a resort, this is a good choice.

The staff was wonderful and breakfast was excellent. However, there is no beach that one would use for actually swimming. More like wet sand everywhere. In the 3 days that we were there not one person was in the water. No child with shovel and bucket making sand castles. Really no beach in the sense of what we are use to thinking a beach should be like. I actually wanted to leave the resort but my money would not be refunded.

We had a nice stay during the Chinese New Year weekend. The resort is one hour drive from the ferry so good for a total getaway but not if you're looking to do other things around Bintan. Although breakfast was busy with many families the resort is well laid out so we didn't feel it was crowded at any other time. The villa was lovely and the bikes a lovely touch to get around. We had two lovely meals at Rica Rica and two wonderful spa treatments. The service was slightly haphazard, we had to chase twice to get our villa serviced and then they didn't give us handtowels. But when the service was good, it was very very good. Overall very happy and would recommend.

5-star accommodations and some of the most thoughtful, friendly and attentive staff I've had anywhere. Restaurants are very good, spa was great and the whole area feels private and cosy, with easy access via foot or bicycles (2 of which are provided for eat villa). It's pretty self-contained and excellent if you want privacy and a quiet resort that's great for couples or families. Some of the less positive aspects is that it's quite far from the ferry terminal (about an hour) and can be a bumpy ride on a minivan. I don't think the activities are many for big families with really active kids and adults. Lastly, the beach isn't great at all. I guess Bintan isn't really known for its pristine beaches, but the one at this resort is muddy and almost unsightly. Maybe it's just the monsoon season. Also, it faces east so no picturesque sunset beach photos (not a problem for me).

The resort was over an hour from the ferry terminal so that was a negative factor for us when considering door-to-door travel. The staff were really fantastic, they definitely made the trip a pleasant experience and did everything to make us welcome and any support we needed. If the staff were not so amazing we would have been disappointed. The breakfast was great. The in-room dining food was ok, chips were often cold and not enjoyable, there was a limited selection of food, good for only 3-4 days. The rooms were of an ok standard, the cleanliness was excellent, and the housekeeping was great too. And the water boys, very fast. The kids rope course was closed, not advised in advance. The ATV and water sports staff were amazing too. Based on what we spent and the travel time though, in hindsight, I would have chosen a place in Phuket, close to restaurants and within 20 minutes of the airport. More variety and similar quality.
