The location of this hotel is great -- short walk to Bryggen Waterfront, Fish Market, Mount Floyen Funticular, and restaurants. The deluxe double room is modern and spacious with a sofa area and walk-in closet. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a wide variety of options. Cata at the reception desk is helpful and friendly, and he provided great information on activities (fjord cruises and hiking trails) and nearby restaurants (Villani Skostredet). I would gladly stay here again!

Wonderful new property and great breakfast buffet. The staff was very helpful. It’s walkable everywhere 3-5 minutes. Two improvements even though new but needed: 1. The lighting is annoying. When you unlock and come to the room, all lights turn on automatically. The problem is if a spouse is sleeping you would not want the lights on. 2. Turning off lights would turn off all lights including the bathroom’s. The problem is the spouse was using the bath room. Turning bedroom lights off would turn off bathroom lights too. Bad idea.

Average experience that you can expect in most mid-end hotels. Good breakfast. Noise with windows open biggest issue which can’t be avoided as there is no air conditioning option.

Fantastic breakfast. Like amazing breakfast. Friendly staff - appreciated the suggestions of places to visit and eat from Kata. Walkable to old town. Entrance has a ton of plants and felt like a little oasis.

Due to city permitting process, the hotel wasn't open when I arrived. They had tried to call me, but I didn't answer the phone as I didn't recognize the number. They had already booked me into a sister property with a better room down the street. Not their fault that I was tired, cranky, my back hurt from dragging my suitcase around on cobblestone sidewalks and my phone's battery was almost dead. They manager on duty let me in, charged my phone for me, offered me a drink, and called the other property to have someone come get me and carry my bags down to their hotel. Even though I was several hours early for check in they got me into a room immediately. Everyone was extremely apologetic and very nice. The last day of my stay they comped a late checkout and bought me a drink in the hotel bar. I could not have had a better experience. My thanks to Cada, Nikolai, and Merete for their outstanding service. These properties are very, very lucky to have them.

Positiv: Sehr gute fussläufige Lage zwischen Bahnhof und Fischmarkt (Hafen). Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, allerdings wären 3-armige Personen gefordert, da es am Buffett keinerlei Abstellmöglichkeit für Teller gab. Geräumige Dusche im Standard DZ. Freundliches Personal. Negativ (Standard-DZ, 19 qm): Minimalistisches Design-Hotel, wo Design deutlich über Funktion geht. Der Innenarchitekt "designte" das neue Hotel offenbar, ohne die "normalen" Bedürfnisse eines Hotelgastes im Sinn zu haben: spartanisch eingerichtetes Zimmer, praktisch ohne Ablagemöglichkeit: keine Kofferablage, kein (Schreib-)Tisch, im ganzen Raum standen genau 40 x 40 cm als Ablagefläche im offenen Wandschrank in Tischhöhe zur Verfügung, obwohl für ein Extra-Möbel durchaus Platz vorhanden gewesen wäre. Dunkles Zimmer, wenig Tageslicht, immer elektr. Licht nötig. Keinerlei Ablagemöglichkeit im Bad, kleines Waschbecken. Keine Aufhängemöglichkeit für Handtücher. Aufgrund eines Defekts an der Toilettenspülung wurden wir problemlos in ein größeres, "behindertengerechtes" Zimmer umgebucht. Dort war das Bad zwar deutlich größer als im vorigen Zimmer, die Dusche jedoch kleiner (!) und der Klopapierhalter soweit von der Toilettenschüssel entfernt, daß er für einen Normalmenschen nicht erreichbar war, geschweige denn für einen Rollstuhlfahrer. Einige Verbesserungen, wie zusätzliche Ablageflächen, wären leicht realisierbar, aber am Grunddesign kann man ohne größeren Aufwand nichts ändern.
