"The Taj Bentota is a very big hotel right in the beach. The pool area is spectacular with plenty of space and sunbeds. The breakfast is excellent with something for everyone. We didn’t have supper in any of the restaurants but did have some very good pool bar snacks and drinks. There are lots of excellent seafood restaurants just outside the hotel entrance gates, across the railway track. Overall I would definitely recommend the Taj Bentota and ALL the staff but especially the Duty Manager...

"Highly recommended!! The location is great, my room was spacious and well equipped, the food is plentiful and delicious and all the staff are happy, friendly and totally adorable!! If you're staying over Christmas/New Year, the extra effort with decorations and evening schedules is really lovely - the best I've experienced. Thank you very much Lanka Princess, I had a brilliant stay. Without hesitation, I would stay here again :-) xxx"

"This property is scam. Absolutely dirty, I don’t feel like recommending it. I want my money back. AC didn’t work, leaking water from AC vent. Dirty towel, spiders in bathrooms, broken taps We were 16 people, and our stay was horrible."

"This hotel has breakfast included (verry good) it is walking distance to the most beautiful beach I've seen so far no river to cross nothing. The train station Bentota is 50 metres away next to Coco's restaurant for fresh fish and cold beer ! Staying a few days here is a must !"

For food they arrange from nearby restaurants. But owner is quite helpful, n quite bigger room size and bathrooms. "We arrived on Christmas Eve after a 7hr taxi journey, we were greeted with a welcome drink and very friendly staff. Once escorted to our room which had an amazing view of the ocean, we discovered that the lock on our door was held on with gaffer tape and the barrel could be pushed out with your finger. The management said 'it maybe fixed before you leave it may not' So after a bit more gaffer tape and feeling totally secure in our room we also discovered the place was filthy dirty and hadn't...
