"Lovely hotel, very helpful staff, I asked for a couple of extra items and they were so accommodating. Beautiful old building but now done to the highest standards. Fabulous breakfast too. Bed very comfortable and bathroom very clean. This was my second visit. I hope to go there again soon. "

"Good hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast very varied. Didn't realise until we were there that the restaurant was not open for evening meals, luckily there a couple of places to eat opposite the hotel. Very spacious room, lots of storage and great having a coffee machine. Had a bit of a problem with the pillows not very comfy, but only there for 2 nights. Our room 801 was a bit dark as in the corner of the building. Hotel in a good location for town, beach and tram"

"The Upstairs hotel was a very stylish and fun hotel just steps from the beach. The staff was really friendly and helpful! One small point is if you do book one of the small/cheap rooms, they aren't easily accessible via the lifts. You will need to go down a couple of flights of stairs which can be tough with heavy luggage. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Ostend!"

"Just over the border from France, a good stop if you are heading north from Clais. Quiet location, parking appears limited at first sight but the hotel will tell you where you can park if you arrive when the restaurant is busy. Staff all very friendly, welcoming and professional. Bedroom is by some standards "neat" but comfortable and clean. It is obvious that the owners are hands on and want to build and maintain a good reputation. "Hôtel très bien situé tout près de la gare. Accueil chaleureux. Chambre comfortable, aménagement de l'espace très intelligent. Très belle salle de bain, parapluie offert dans la chambre sur une patère très pratique, détails fonctionnels bien pensés - boulloire et tasse en porcelaine dans la chambre, entre autres. "There was zero service. We saw no staff for the length of our stay. reception was closed throughout. Although breakfast is advertised as starting at 8am, when we arrived at the property and checked this we found out that breakfast had to be booked by 5pm the previous day. This was written in small type on a 'welcome' note. So no breakfast. The photos & description of the property imply that it is close to the beach. It isn't! Its at least 1/2 mile away across a busy road."

"Lovely hotel in a good location. Excellent breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. The air conditioning in my room wasn’t working and no one was available to fix it. Fortunately I could open the window without too much disturbance but it would have been nice if they could move my room or fix the problem."

"I liked the proximity to the Zwin and the possibility to rent bikes from the hotel. Breakfast is impressive, with a diversity of breads, cheese, charcuterie, etc. that should please everyone. Also very good coffee."

"I have stayed at the holiday suites 3 times now and about to book a fourth. What’s not to like? The suites are spotless, family and pet friendly, quiet and gardens kept impeccably. First class and at an exceptional price. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Nieuwpoort. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Good facilities

"Good facilities, good size for 6 people supermarket 5 minute walk away. Spa and pool excellent the kids loved it, well equipped kitchen. The only problem was the smoke detectors are very sensitive, there's one on the bathroom which was triggered by steam from the shower and one was set off by spray deodorant, so security show up and say there's a problem and you have to open the balcony door, not ideal in winter. Overall a good stay."
