"This is precious landmark hotel in Taipei just like a palace. The building is beautiful and magnificent. The room is quiet and comfortable. Bathroom has tub and separated shower room. If you do not have rental car, in order to go around in the city, you have to take hotel shuttle to go subway station. The shuttle runs daily every 20 minutes. I paid $25 for breakfast, food has good varieties, but taste is average."

Didn’t look like the first time it had happened as there seemed to be previous moisture issues in the same area and the room had a damp/mouldy smell. All bathrooms have dark growth on most of the silicone lines. Carpet throughout hotel is old and needs replacement. I was offered a minor upgrade in room due to the leaking inconvenience. Breakfast is good albeit busy and food...

"We enjoyed our stay at Solaria, clean, nice location & very friendly staff. The only thing I didn’t like about the policy of the hotel is you have to pay $30 in order to check-in early. We arrived at the hotel early coming from a cruise but according to a staff the room is not yet ready. However the room will be ready if you pay an extra $30. This doesn’t happen in big hotels. You can check-in once the room is ready."

"Housekeeping quality has degraded compared to my previous stays at the hotel. Dirty towels and clean clothes were left in the room after cleaning. Water was added to the liquid hand soap. The heater doesn’t work properly. I set the temperature to 22C, but the room temperature is always at 18C. I reported these to housekeeping, but not much was done."
