What you can expect

This trip takes you to St. Elizabeth, the Bread Basket of the island. Enjoy Jamaica’s favourite brunch while travelling cross country over hills and valleys on this scenic tour. Your first stop will be the beautiful and spectacular YS Falls with its many cascading pools. Here you will board a tractor-drawn jitney and travel through the meadows on your way to the exotic waterfalls. Enjoy nature in its natural state and relax as the cool refreshing water cascades down approximately 120 feet into the YS River. Have a delicious Jamaican lunch before separating for your chosen activity.

On the Black River Safari tour, travel by boat 6 miles upriver through Jamaica’s largest wetland area, the Black River Morass. Your Captain or guide will give commentary on the ecology and history of the area. You will be fascinated to see the captain hand-feed and describe endangered, free-living crocodiles and the over 100 species of birds recorded in the morass, along with the mangrove, palms and other plants in the freshwater swamp forest.

Then journey to the docks at Parrottee, where you will board your boat for the short cruise to the Pelican Bar. Spend approximately 1 hour swimming in the region of this rustic Pelican Bar built over shallow waters, or just relax and watch the Pelicans nesting on the reefs. It might just be your lucky day to see Dolphins frolic in the wild in this area. Afterwards, return to the docks at Black River, where you will be hosted with a drink before rejoining your original transport for the return journey to your hotel.
