What you can expect
Head out on a Canadian winter journey and discover Banff's highlights, including Johnston Canyon, Lake Louise, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and more. Sit back in comfort in your van and let the breathtaking panoramic views speak for themselves.
In the morning, head to your first stop by Two Jack Lake to capture some photos, then head to Lake Minnewanka. During winter, you have a higher chance of seeing the magical phenomena of icy bubbles at Lake Minnewanka.
Next, make your way to Johnston Canyon, Banff National Park's most popular hiking destination, to see spectacular frozen waterfalls. Enjoy ice walking in the amazing Johnston Canyon, with your free borrow of Rivet crampons.
In the afternoon, continue on to another enchanting winter wonderland in the Rocky Mountains: Lake Louise. Nestled against the Victoria Glacier, every year from January to April, the grand Ice Magic Festival takes place here. Artists and ice enthusiasts from around the world gather to create a beautiful fairytale world through magnificent ice sculptures.
Marvel at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise that resembles a scene from a painting, with snow-capped mountains and the icy lake reflecting each other. If the weather cooperates and the conditions are good, take the opportunity here to enjoy the fun activity of snowshoeing with the complimentary use of snowshoes.
Then go to the famous Vermilion Lake. The hot springs at the bottom of the lake and the mist surrounding it reflect the majestic mountains making the lake a well-known photography spot. After that, return to Banff Town, known as the “soul of the Rockies”.
Stroll around the century-old town full of 19th-century architectural features, look for local shops on Banff Avenue, and end the day's journey in a leisurely mood.
