A great adventure awaits you at the Tenorio River! Here, you will test your courage with the rapids class III and IV (irregular and medium waves, complex maneuverings in fast rapids in class III; intense and powerful yet predictable in class IV).

Tenorio River is located in Guanacaste Province, which features a distinctive dry tropical climate and remains largely undiscovered by foreign visitors. Yet it offers natural treasures, protected areas, and wildlife reserves that make this province “the place” to experience a day of full adrenaline, fun, and nature! For those already rafters this trip is a must.

The river challenges await you as you plunge through twists, turns, and drops down 8 miles of intense, challenging rapids. All participants must be in good physical condition. Don’t forget to bring your swim trunks and comfortable wearing clothes to get wet, rubber sole shoes, a complete change of clothes and a towel; sun block, sunglasses with secure head straps, and a baseball cap or hat that fits tight.

You will hit the road and go to the river, located half hour from the operations centre (paved and dirty road) and where the guide’s team will have the safety equipment ready (lifejackets, helmets, and paddles) along with the river safety talk. The trip on the river lasts for about 2,5 hours and includes a river snack at the end; fresh fruits, cookies, natural drinks, and water will be served.

After the snack, you will make the 55-minute drive to get to the restaurant where you will have a delicious hot lunch waiting. The option to use bathrooms is also available.

All passengers are provided with the necessary safety equipment, always in perfect condition, to make this tour a great but safe experience. The Tenorio River has everything on it, you can find a 12-foot drop (class V) - one of its kind. It is important to mention that both this drop and some of the most intense rapids are not required.
