Just a short drive from Bogotá, and located in the forest of the Andes mountains, the highest waterfall in Colombia lies waiting: La Chorrera de Choachí featuring waterfalls, caves and mesmerising views. This journey to the “Mountains of the Moon” will start when one of our guides and a driver pick you up in your hotel. Before getting to La Chorrera we will visit Guadalupe one of Bogotá’s best viewpoints. See its imposing landscape and then head to Choachí, to the entrance of the park. Once there, we’ll visit its first, smaller waterfall, El Chiflón. As we advance, learn of the park’s history, the local ecosystem, and recent challenges Explore the park’s other curiosities like its “monkey stones”, and the peculiarities of these cloud forests. Deeper inside the park, you’ll find La Chorrera: a tiered or stepped 590 metres tall waterfall. This one you can’t rappel down, but you can marvel at! Take in the mighty sight and rest your feet before taking the trail back out of the park. Finally, you’ll be able to join in with some of the locals for a fantastic local lunch before heading back to Bogotá.
