People say that the best way to experience a foreign place is to do as the locals do.
Would you like to have an experience trying some food and meze as the locals used to do in the past (and many of them still do now), in a small village of Naxos Island, at a traditional cafenio?
This experience begins…
…by walking down the path of our picturesque village, Myli, among traditional houses, cisterns, donkeys, age-old trees and small streams.
The hosts, Gabriel and Marianna love to cook food and meze at their small cafenio.
Traditionally, the customers of the old cafenia ordered their drink of preference and maybe some meze. The meze was a surprise! There were a few delicacies that could be different every day depending on the available seasonal materials.
And the owners have kept it this way today.
Everything is just a surprise! You have to trust the owners and let yourself relax and enjoy all the food they will serve you.
This food experience includes sharing:
- salad
- different kinds of meze/food
- dessert
- wine or soft drinks or beer
- water
*the cafenio is also a small shop & honey shop for anyone who is interested in buying some honey, pollen, royal jam, beeswax cream, herbs and other local products from our bees and the Naxian land
In case of allergy or intolerance to any food material or beehive products (eg. honey, pollen, propolis) it is best to avoid this experience.
In case of extreme weather phenomena (eg. too hot/cold/ windy weather), we’ll have to reschedule.
