Activity itinerary

Lourmarin
  • 1h
It is one of the most beautiful villages in France with Provençal tiled houses. This village is medieval and was founded around the year 1000. Here we have a beautiful Renaissance style castle from the 15th and 16th century. During this period Louramrin went through the wars of religion. This is why from the castle terrace you can see the bell tower of the Catholic church and also a 19th century Protestant temple. 3000 Protestants were killed during the wars of religion in the Luberon. Albert Camus lived in Lourmarin. His grave is in the village cemetery.

One of the most beautiful markets in the region is in Lourmarin. If our outing takes place on Friday you will have the chance to spend some time at the market and see all the region's production: olives and tapenades, candied garlic, dry sausage, regional goat's cheeses, country bread, local fruits and vegetables. season, herbs from Provence, fruit jams, honey, nougat, sea salt from Camargue... The musicians in the village streets liven up this market and create a unique atmosphere!

A village in the north of Luberon with panoramic views of the mountain range and the Calavon valley. Here we feel the mistral — our emblematic wind of Provence. Here we see the century-old cedars and at the top a 12th century chapel.
Roussillon
  • 45m
One of the most beautiful villages in France. It is the most colourful in Provence thanks to the pigment of ocher. Here we have ocher quarries where the pigment was extracted during the 18th century. Currently this village offers us a unique spectacle with this contrast of red and orange and the surrounding forests. All the houses in the village are painted with this pigment. The ocher quarries are open to visitors.
Le Sentier Des Ocres De Roussillon

These quarries exported during the 18th century are open to the public. You can visit them if you wish. The quarries may be closed in the event of rain and stormy incidents. Sometimes the management closes the quarries exceptionally (find out the calendar before the visit). Advice for visiting the ocher trails: avoid white shoes (they risk turning orange). Price €3.5/pp
Gordes
  • 45m
Gordes is the most beautiful village in the world. In 2023 this title was granted to him by an American magazine specialising in travel. A magnificent view opens up as you approach the village. You admire it from a stone balcony. Then a stroll in the picturesque streets is recommended. Don't hesitate to stroll through the streets and stop by the fountain on the castle square. The film “Happy New Year” was filmed here.
