What you can expect

Welcome aboard the newest vessel to the French Quarter riverfront, the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS!

The Steamboat NATCHEZ is taking some time off, but her sister vessel will be taking her place. You’ll get the same authentic riverboat experience of a leisurely, two-hour cruise on the mighty Mississippi, enjoying traditional live jazz and all the beautiful New Orleans sites, while also exploring the newly renovated riverboat addition to our family. Make sure you check out all four decks. The top deck view is a site to see!

The Riverboat “CITY of NEW ORLEANS,” uniquely New Orleans - welcome aboard!

Enjoy a New Orleans Sunday brunch with a view as you head back to a simpler era aboard the last authentic steam-powered steamboat on the Mississippi River. Immerse yourself in Southern culture with vibrant live jazz music and an optional brunch buffet of local specialities.

Your cruise departs from the historic French Quarter and travels down the Mississippi for views of the ever-changing skyline of one of the busiest port cities in the United States. Lean against the railing as you listen to a narration of historical facts about New Orleans over catchy jazz riffs.

From either the open decks or the climate-controlled interior of stately Natchez, imagine the fray of the Battle of New Orleans as you pass the site of this historic battle. Watch the rolling shoreline as the steamboat plies the muddy Mississippi, which inspired the stories of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Along the way, enjoy an authentic calliope concert, featuring live music by the Steamboat Stompers jazz band, and consider enhancing your experience by adding a buffet of authentic Southern cooking. For the full experience, you can also opt to enjoy brunch onboard. Featuring a variety of Cajun favourites and New Orleans classics, this buffet-style meal is sure to please even the pickiest eaters.

Please Note: Should the Steamboat NATCHEZ become unavailable for her yearly Coast Guard inspections and/or general maintenance, all cruises during this time will take place on her sister vessel - the newly renovated Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS.
