This full day tour offers you an opportunity to explore daily life and activity of local people in rural Luang Prabang. You will visit a traditional silk weaving centre and learn about the process of making a silk product. In addition, joining this tour, you will enjoy the great view of the hidden valley from Ban Houy Thong and a good time in a small resort.

At the departure time, you will be greeted and picked up at your hotel’s lobby by an English speaking tour guide and a driver.

You will be first transferred to the suburb areas of Luang Prabang. Here, you are going to visit the beautiful weaving centre, Ock Pop Tok. You will stroll around this village to see the real silk weaving process which is “starting with the caterpillar, finishing with the scarf”. It must be an interesting experience that you should have there. Besides, you can buy some silk products as souvenirs for your relatives and friends.

After that, you will stop by the Mekong River, relax, have a fresh cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the peaceful view over the river.

Then, you continue driving to Ban Houy Thong which is about 300 metres higher than Luang Prabang. Here you can enjoy a stunning view over the valley. Your next destination is the Khmu ethnic village where you can not only enjoy the beauty of nature but also the daily life of the locals. You will take a short walk (about 1.5 hours) through beautiful rice fields and lush jungle forests. You will explore these areas with the support of the English speaking guide. He/she will give you general information about farming activities and lifestyle in the countryside. After this short walk, you will enjoy a short rest with a fruit-refreshment.

In the afternoon, after lunch provided in a small resort, you can enjoy yourself with a refreshing swim in a beautiful outdoor swimming pool. Then, it’s optional that you either stat at the resort to relax and then head back to Luang Prabang, or hike up to a viewpoint before returning to Luang Prabang. The tour ends when you arrive at Luang Prabang.
