The experience begins with signing the guide's briefing and disclaimer the night before the flight. Your guide will pick you up at your camp/lodge early in the morning (4-5 a.m.) and arrive at the takeoff site around 6 a.m., giving you plenty of time to enjoy a warm Tanzanian coffee with homemade cookies and access to clean toilets and free Wi-Fi. During this time, the pilot will brief you on safety measures, takeoff and landing procedures, and what to expect. It will take off around 6:30 a.m. depending on the weather conditions. During boarding, the basket lies on its side and stands upright just before takeoff. Immediately after takeoff, you can enjoy the wonderful sunrise in Africa (depending on the weather). During your flight, you'll get a glimpse of Serengeti's vast plains, and you'll understand why it's called an endless plain. Pilots will lower their balloons to discover wildlife and have a better view of them. You can also float balloons for better speed and direction, or float balloons for a great view. After breakfast, get your certificate and return to the visitor centre or the nearest runway to meet with your guide to continue the safari. The flight usually takes 1 hour +/- 15 minutes, depending on the weather. Landing depends on local terrain and wind speed. There may be some shock or flip before the basket stops, but in most cases it's as soft and soft as the flight itself. After disembarking, you will enjoy a champagne celebration with a brief history of how this tradition was born. After that, you will be transported to the carefully selected Bush breakfast area to enjoy a delicious placed breakfast with a warm welcome from our staff. Note: If you need a diet, please let us know in advance and we can provide a custom breakfast.
