Embark on a 4-day adventure through the jungles of Mexico. Raft down the Lacanjá River, kayak through the Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve, and visit the archaeological sites of Bonampak and Palenque.
Day 1:
Depart early from San Cristóbal de Las Casas to visit the majestic El Chiflón waterfall and enjoy its impressive 70-meter drop. Then, visit the Montebello Lakes before transferring to Campamento Río Ixcan, where you will sleep by the Lacantún River.
Day 2:
Transfer to the starting point for your kayak journey and paddle for 4 hours. During the journey, venture into the jungle for lunch amidst lush vegetation. End the kayak tour at Ejido Loma Bonita, and meet the van for a 3.5-hour journey to the Lacandon community of Lacanjá Chansayab, reaching Campamento Río Lacanjá for the night.
Day 3:
In the morning, visit the Bonampak archaeological site, renowned for its well-preserved and significant Mayan murals. Return to camp and embark on a rafting adventure on the Lacanjá River, encountering cascades, and hiking to the nearby Lacanjá archaeological zone.
Afterwards, visit the Moctuniha waterfalls for swimming and lunch before hiking back through the evergreen highland jungle to Campamento Río Lacanjá.
Day 4:
Transfer early to the Palenque archaeological site to explore one of the most important Mayan cities. Then, journey to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, stopping to visit the beautiful Agua Azul waterfalls along the way.
