Embark on a 3-day kayaking adventure in the Lacandon Jungle. Visit the majestic El Chiflón waterfall, the Montebello Lakes, and the Roberto Barrios waterfalls. Explore the jungle and camp by the Ixcan River.
Day 1:
Depart early from San Cristóbal de Las Casas to visit the majestic El Chiflón waterfall, where you can enjoy its impressive 70-meter drop. Afterwards, visit the Montebello Lakes before heading to Campamento Río Ixcan, where you can witness macaws flying freely and spend the night by the Ixcan River amidst a beautiful chorus of howler monkeys.
Day 2:
Transfer to the starting point for your kayak journey and paddle for four hours. At one point, venture into the jungle for lunch surrounded by lush vegetation. After kayaking, return to Chajul/Loma Bonita by van and drive for 3.5 hours to reach your camp. There, explore an interpretive trail to better understand the importance of the evergreen highland jungle. Sleep at Campamento Río Lacanjá.
Day 3:
In the morning, explore the stunning Roberto Barrios waterfalls and enjoy their warm waters. Then, travel to the archaeological site of Palenque to visit one of the most important Mayan cities. Conclude your journey in the city of Palenque. If desired, transfer back to the city of San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
