Las Coloradas is located within the biosphere of Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan Peninsula at 250 km from Merida. Is a small fishing village characterised by having the largest salt mine in Mexico. Las Coloradas spectacular pink colour is due to its high concentration of salt, microorganisms and the sun. It is intensity varies depending on the position of the sun rays allowing us to admire a range of colours from yellow and orange to the pink colour that characterises it.
