What you can expect
Indulge in the best of Rhodes with our exclusive tour designed to cater to the desires of cruise passengers. Your private adventure begins with a 1-hour Scenic Drive of Rhodes City, where history comes alive.
The drive starts with the exposure of the Medieval town where Byzantine, Ottoman and Italian architecture is witnessed. Within the Walls of the town, the Palace of the Grand Master is spotted. We continue to the entrance of the Old Harbour (Mandraki), where according to the tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes (one of the seven ancient world wonders) once stood. Close to the entrance of the Old Port is the “Church of Annunciation of the Virgin Mary”, where today is the town's cathedral church. The Church is styled as a 3 aisled gothic basilica with a wooden roof, amazing gothic wall paintings by Fotis Kontoglou and impressive chandeliers.
Driving towards the northernmost tip of Rhodes, we will see the Aquarium of Rhodes, which is the ideal place for those wishing to get acquainted with the marine wealth of the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
As we drive up to the Acropolis of Rhodes City, you will have a picturesque panoramic view from Monte Smith hill. The location was named after Sir Sydney Smith, an English admiral stationed on the hill in 1802 during the war with Turks to monitor the movements of Napoleon’s fleet. The familiarisations of the temple of Apollo, the Greek Stadium and the Greek Amphitheatre are then followed in order to become a knowledgeable resident.
As the city tour comes to a close, you will be given 2 choices:
A. to be transferred to the best-known sandy Beach in Rhodes (Faliraki Beach)! Enjoy the freedom to bask in leisure, whether it's sunbathing, swimming, or simply savouring the tranquil atmosphere of this idyllic coastal paradise.
Changing rooms, showers, Cafeteria-Restaurant and playground are available!
B. to experience unrepeatable fun at Rhodes' Water Park! As one of the largest waterparks in Greece, WaterPark Faliraki offers an ideal day for families! As the park is located uphill, you can enjoy fantastic sea views while having fun at the water slides, lazy river and pools. Park yourself at a deckchair in the garden and have snacks, refreshments, or a full meal in one of several restaurants and cafes throughout the park.
On the way back to Rhodes Town, you will enjoy a short but delightful 30-minute stopover at the captivating Kallithea Springs. Visiting Kallithea Springs in Rhodes can be a unique experience, where you can get a taste of the Ancient Thermal spa combined with the modern facilities surrounding them. In the early 1900s, the Italians occupied the island, which brought more attention to this area. They built the Rotunda with pebble mosaics. The crystal-clear water and the picturesque scenery will leave you speechless.
Explore the island's rich history, then select your preferred exciting path, and make the most of your visit in Rhodes Island!
