What you can expect

Route: Tashkent - Heliocomplex - Sukak Forest – Tashkent
Tashkent - Heliocomplex (40 km, ±1 hour)
Description:
Departure from Tashkent

  • Heliocomplex: There are two such constructions in the world that were built during the Cold War. One in France and the other here in Tashkent. The object, once considered highly secret and strictly protected, is now one of the attractions of the city, where with the help of a researcher from the institute you can get acquainted with the functions of the complex.
The height of the concentrator is 54 m, the width is 47 m, it also includes 62 heliostats. The furnace was built in 1981-1987, started operation in 1987, has a capacity of one megawatt. We take a tour of the complex to learn more and go up to the office that is in heliostat.
Departure from the Institute and arrival at the Sukok Forest.
  • Nature Reserve and Sukok Forest. It is also called as Russian forest in Uzbekistan. This place is protected by the government.
It starts from the walk through the forest and we continue to spring water (5 km return / light level). The artificial forest was planted a long time ago, and at present the farm staff is constantly working to plant new seedlings and protect this natural complex. At the beginning, a paved road where the Crimean pine predominates. Gradually, we climb to the ridge. There we find a small cave, where you can hear the noise of the water, bubbling deep underground.
Picnic in the forest (not included).
After lunch, we return along the bank of the stream.
