Overview

Guiding for me is a passion, and if you are curious to learn about our culture, history and people join me on my walks.

As the world entered the Covid lockdown, in March and in December 2020 Zagreb in Croatia was hit by two strong earthquakes. This is way most of the city centre buildings are hidden under scaffolds.

We can still walk around and tell the storey of the the people, country and the city that goes back 1000 years ago.

Activity itinerary

Cathedral of Zagreb
  • 15m
Kaptol and the Zagreb Cathedral is not just a church, it is an identity building landmark for all Croatians
Dolac Market
  • 10m
During our morning walks we can stop a little here, to sense the place with all our senses. The place where local people by local and seasonal food for decades (even centuries... )
Tkalciceva Street
  • 10m
We all have the same itinerary, but do we tell the same stories? A symbol of the social life of Zagreb (one of two in the city centre), a street did not exist here not so long ago. So what was it during many centuries of Zagreb's history?
Porta di Pietra (Kamenita Vrata)
  • 5m
The Stone Gate of Zagreb is special place in every sense of the word. One of the public places where this medieval spirits hide.
Upper Town (Gornji Grad)
  • 20m
Historically the Kaptol with the cathedral were higher in hierarchy, although not above the sea level. Today, the Upper Town's landmarks beat the rhythm of the political life of the whole country (Republic of Croatia). Where do the Middle Ages hide here?
St. Mark's Church
  • 10m
The saint patron of the Upper Town is not St. Mark, but the main medieval square and the main community church of the Upper Town are called after another saint - St. Mark. What kind of community lived here? Who are the people who live here now?
Funicular Railway
  • 15m
  • Admission ticket not included
Will we use it or not - depends on your fitness level and willingness to walk down the hill or not. The choice you have: to cut it short (and use the shortest funicular in the world, the cost is 5 Kunas per person in 2021) or walk down the steep stairs through the picturesque hidden park
Tunel Gric
  • 10m
Fairytale or nightmare? Today neither, but before, well you will tell us your impressions. And then you will learn the truth
Square of Petar Preradovic
  • 5m
If you ask a local citizen for instructions to this square, there is a possibility they will not know what you are talking about. We call it differently and with the Tkalciceva square this is the main stage for the city's social life, coffee culture and elite passing by.
