The Thermopylae Baths are 15 kms away from the town of Lamia The region is known from the Battle of Thermopylae between Greeks and Persians in 480 BC. Next to the road, there is a statue of Leonidas and the Holy Hill where Leonidas fought with the 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians. According to mythology, Hephaestus, at the request of the goddess Athena, created the springs for Hercules to wash and regain his strength after his feats.
