Overview

Join this exciting “Rocky” film locations tour and visit several iconic sites that were featured in the legendary franchise.

Leave the driving to your local expert guide as you explore the area that Rocky called home. You'll see his apartment from the first film, and the building that served as Mighty Mick's Gym.

Head down into South Philly, where you can jog up the Italian Market, ask for a blessing at Father Carmine's church and glide past Adrian's Restaurant.

Drive out to historic Laurel Hill Cemetery to pay respects to Adrian and Paulie at the headstones that were made for the films.

The final highlight will be the famous “Rocky” steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you will also find the giant bronze statue of Rocky himself! Scale the steps for a breathtaking view of the city before striking a pose with the statue for an amazing photo op.

Throughout the tour, you and your guide will share Rocky trivia and recite all the quotes word for word.

Activity itinerary

Rocky Statue
  • 30m
In a tour full of highlights, the one at the top of the list is of course the iconic statue and steps that have defined what the Rocky films are all about. Do your best Balboa impression in front of his statue, which may be the most photographed statue in Philadelphia. Then make sure to do some stretches before running up the 72 most famous steps in the city and strike your victor’s pose! The view of the city from on top of the steps is magnificent, and your guide will be there to capture it all on your phone.
Philadelphia Museum of Art
  • 30m
The Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the largest art museums in the United States, showcases a vast collection spanning centuries and cultures. Made famous by the iconic "Rocky" films, its front steps, known as the "Rocky Steps," have become an iconic symbol of the city, where visitors often recreate the triumphant run made by Sylvester Stallone's character, Rocky Balboa
Mighty Micks
  • 15m
The building which served as the exterior of Micky Goldmill’s gym (Rocky’s home away from home) still stands. You will have the chance to walk around the building, take some pictures, and here why the director chose this location. And right across the street?....There’s the bar where the climactic Tommy Gun fight happened. A great Rocky corner!
1818 E Tusculum St
  • 10m
Rocky's Apartment from the first film. In the heart of the Kensington area, on a side street that could easily be missed without a guide, is Rocky’s apartment from the first film. The building and street have not changed since 1976, and you’ll be able to take a picture while stretching on the stoop just like Balboa did before his early-morning run.
Italian Market
  • 15m
One of America’s oldest and largest outdoor markets was the scene of Rocky’s famous montages as he trained to face Creed. Drive up the road that he ran, past the wonderful shops and fruit vendors, and past Pat’s King of Steaks, where Gazzo gave Rocky some money for expenses. Maybe even grab a steak here if time allows.
1303 Dickinson St (Pass by)
Adrian’s Restaurant, The classic Italian eatery Victor Cafe serves as the setting for Rocky’s fictitious restaurant where he meets Adonis Creed and sits warily with Ivan Drago.
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church
  • 10m
Also known as Father Carmine Church - Visit the active Catholic Church in South Philly and stand outside the window where Father Carmine sends down a blessing to Rocky “....So that if I get beat up tonight, it won’t be too bad”
Pennsylvania Hospital (Pass by)
Drive past the oldest hospital in Pennsylvania, which served as the setting for the hospital that Rocky visit’s after his first bout with Creed.
Front Street Gym
  • 10m
The real life boxing gym that was used extensively in Creed. This is where Adonis’s training montage ends with the motorcycles racing around him. If the gym is open, we will take a look inside. It’s the real deal!
2313 S Lambert St (Pass by)
Rocky and Adrian's house from Rocky II, tucked away in a charming alley in South Philly. The exterior looks exactly as it did back when the film was shot. The numbers still almost add up to 9!!!
Laurel Hill Cemetery
  • 15m
This peaceful and scenic cemetery overlooking the Schuylkill River is the resting place of Rocky’s beloved Adrian and Paulie. Pay respects to these characters in front of the real stones that were made for the films, and your guide will lead you to the spot where Rocky sits on his wooden chair and reflects while reading the newspaper.
