What you can expect

Venture into the countryside for a full-day expedition to see the vast community of birds in the Junam Wetlands and the beautiful Buddhist temple of Haeinsa. This private tour shows you the idyllic scenery that stands outside the metropolis of Busan, offering a unique look at Korea's natural and cultural heritage.

A ride from your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle carries you out to Junam Wetland Park, the migratory home for more than 100 different species of birds. The area sees up to 30,000 birds arriving daily in the winter and up to 6,000 in the summer, surrounding you with a lively and colourful ecosystem. Once you've had some time to explore the wilderness, your guide takes you to a local restaurant for a lunch of tasty Korean cuisine.

It's then time to head north for a visit to Haeinsa and a look at one of the 3 Jewel Temples of Korea. Admire the peaceful landscape of rice terraces around the temple complex as you learn about the temple's 1,200-year history and its collection of the Tripitaka Koreana, a 13th-century set of Buddhist scriptures recorded on more than 80,000 wooden printing blocks. In the afternoon, you get a relaxing ride back to your hotel in Busan.
