Overview

Join us on a unique experience to discover Rome's main Jubilee churches, a journey that will take you through centuries of history, art, faith and culture.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to pass through at least one holy door and visit not only the three main Jubilee churches, but also three other historical wonders related to the Jubilee: Saint Clement, Holy Cross in Jerusalem and Holy Spirit in Sassia. Each church has a fascinating storey to tell, and our expert guide will reveal the secrets behind each sacred site. We will visit the three Jubilee churches of Rome (St. Peter; St. John Lateran; St. Mary Major) true symbols of faith and spirituality, and deepen their importance in the context of the Jubilee, a tradition that marks the return to justice and hope.
It will be an unforgettable journey that will allow you to immerse yourself in the heart of the Eternal City!

Activity itinerary

Basilica of San Clemente
  • 15m
The first stop will be at the Basilica of San Clemente. A building that tells the storey of Christianity in an extraordinary way, with three overlapping archaeological levels, dating back to different eras
Arcibasilica di San Giovanni in Laterano
  • 25m
Afterwards we will head to the Papal Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, "the cathedral of Rome". It is the mother church of the Catholic Church and the residence of the pope as bishop of Rome. Built in the fourth century by Constantine, it is the oldest of the papal basilicas. Inside you will find the magnificent Holy Staircase (the staircase that, according to tradition, Jesus ascended to Jerusalem). San Giovanni in Laterano is also home to the Lateran Archbasilica, a symbol of the bond between the Church and the city of Rome
Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme
  • 20m
Another stop will be at the Basilica of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, one of the seven Jubilee Churches in Rome. It was built on a residence of Empress Helena, Constantine’s mother, and houses some of the most important Christian relics, including fragments of the True Cross
Santa Maria Maggiore
  • 25m
Afterwards, we will visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, dedicated to the Virgin Mary and located on the Esquiline Hill. Famous for its medieval mosaics depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin, the basilica also houses one of the most important Christian relics: the Sacred Cradle, which, according to tradition, once contained the baby Jesus.
Chiesa di Santo Spirito in Sassia
  • 15m
Another church we will admire is the Church of the Holy Spirit in Sassia, located a few steps from the Vatican. This church is renowned for its connection to the Jesuit movement and for its care of the souls of pilgrims.
Vatican City
  • 25m
The last stop will be St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, the most famous and largest of the papal basilicas. Located in the heart of Vatican City, it is one of the holiest places for Christians and a symbol of Catholicism. Designed by architects such as Bramante, Michelangelo and Bernini, it houses the tomb of St. Peter.
