Island of the Fishermen (Isola dei Pescatori) (Pass by)
The Fishermen's Island, located in Lake Maggiore, is the smallest and only inhabited of the Borromean Islands. Featuring a picturesque fishing village, it boasts narrow alleys, traditional multi-storey houses with protruding balconies for drying fish, and a medieval church, San Vittore. The island is known for its authentic atmosphere and cuisine based on lake fish. On Fishermen's Island you can walk through the picturesque alleys, visit the Church of San Vittore with its ancient frescoes, explore the local craft shops and taste typical fish dishes in the restaurants overlooking the lake.
