The Ponoig via ferrata is located in the town of Polop, 20 minutes away from Benidorm. With the equipment installed being mainly clamps and unlike other via ferratas, which have a path or trail to descend, this time you'll have to abseil down.
However, from the top of the Sleeping Lion you will have an incredible view of the whole territory.
This via ferrata is approximately 230 metres long and its difficulty level is K4. The route is divided into two well-differentiated sections, both vertical. As soon as you start climbing you will notice the large number of clamps you need to grab to reach the top. They are quite close together, so the verticality is more impressive than difficult.
Once you reach the top, you will find yourself at the Sleeping Lion. From the viewpoint you can enjoy magnificent views of the Costa Blanca, with Altea, La Nucia, Callosa and Benidorm in the background. Take the opportunity to get a breath of fresh air and take the best possible pictures for a fantastic souvenir.
But it doesn't end here, as the descent is also quite fun: you'll follow a path through the mountain until you reach an area of abseiling ropes. The only way down from the Ponoig via ferrata is via the ropes. The abseil descents are 25 and 35 metres.
