Ancient Pompeii is the Roman city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79 and is the best example of a city that will give you an insight into the life of the Romans.
With an archaeologist, you will explore the most important and famous buildings. The tour starts at the Porta Marina Inferiore, through the area of the theatres. Then it continues by exploring ancient houses with beautiful decorations, such as mosaics, frescoes, and marble.
You will walk past shops, old Roman bakeries, and ancient snack bars until you reach the public baths and the famous Lupanare. Finally, don't miss the Forum with public buildings and plaster casts of the victims.
After a lunch break, we will reach Herculaneum (about 20 minutes by train).
The different state of burial and conservation makes Herculaneum a small jewel.
We will admire the splendid residences with unique decorations, frescos, marbles, mosaics, jewellery, skeletons, and exceptionally well-preserved wood.
You will live, with the help of an archaeologist, an unforgettable experience discovering the two ancient cities and the culture of the Romans.
The tour is designed and recommended for families, but also for all lovers of photography and archaeology.
