What you can expect

Start your day at the Tenikwa Conservation Centre helping the animal keepers with their early morning tasks as they do animal and enclosure checks around the centre. Enjoy breakfast on the deck overlooking the cheetahs.

Get to know the facility and the conservation work being undertaken there and get a tour of the place. Visit the different wild cats of South Africa accompanied by a guide and learn about the conservation issues facing the different species.

Have some lunch, and then help out the guides in an enrichment exercise for the non-releasable animals, designed to keep up their quality of life in captivity.

Enjoy a guided walk through the indigenous Tsitsikamma forest if time and weather permit. Spend the afternoon helping the animal-keeping staff prepare food for the animals and accompanying them to watch the feedings.

Accompany the staff as they secure the animals for the night at the end of the day. Have plenty of time to interact with the staff and find out all about their conservation efforts.
