Pietrasanta

Pietrasanta is a lovely medieval town known for its artistic tradition. It is named the little Athens of Italy because of the many international artists that chose it as their adopted country. The beauty of Piazza del Duomo is breathtaking, the peaceful town invites us to walk along the streets with the little workshops, the local speciality shops, the art galeries and exibitions. Marble quarrying has brought many sculptors to Pietrasanta following in the footsteps of Michelangelo, who personally came here to chose his marble blocks extracted from the Apuan Alps nearby. The Piazza, blessed by its seclusion from traffic, is a lovely sitting room where tourists and artists from all over the world mingle with the friendly residents. Not far from Pietrasanta we take a break for lunch in a tradional family run restaurant to enjoy their wonderul Fettuccine Alfredo! This restaurant is frequented by locals, famous for their regional recipes with local mushrooms, meat and pastas.
Area Archeologica Massaciuccoli Romana
  • 30m
In this archaeological site, we will admire the ruins of a roman Villa, where a diplomatic family lived and its Bath complex. Amazing view, surrounded by gentle hill with olive trees and lake view.
Parco Regionale Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli
  • 1h 30m
In this regional Park our wine tasting awaits us: first we visit the property and its vineyards, we will join the wine tour appreciating the storey of this winemaker family producing the only sparkling wine Prosecco of the area. They are very proud of the combination "sand-sea", a wine produced with grapes that grow on the sea shore creating a fine bubble sparkling wine. We will taste three wines combined with bruschetta with organic olive oil. The extra virgin olive oil of this province is the best of Tuscany! We will relax in their beautiful garden, sitting on hay bale surrounded by olive trees.
