What you can expect
Hop on your e-bike for a ride to the bustling, beating heart of Udaipur—the Old City, spread out in a maze of lanes around Jagdish Mandir. Navigating ancient streets with cars is impossible, as they cannot cover every corner of the old city, and walking can be exhausting and confusing due to the narrow and intricate pathways. Hence, e-bikes are the perfect storytellers of Udaipur; they set you free while empowering you to experience the city’s authentic culture at a slow pace. Accompanied by our young, creative, and passionate videographer, you’ll cycle through the maze of twisting gullies, soaking in the atmosphere and living in the moment while learning local stories.
From its classic stained glass windows in spectacular colours to looming darwazas (gates), the Old City is a goldmine for design and photography enthusiasts. Art and history; it’s a double whammy! As our expert shares tips on light, lenses, and basic etiquette, you’ll be transported to a sepia-tinted era; to the 16th century when administrators and managers of the royal family settled in this area, building huge mansions (havelis) dominated by scalloped arches and technicolour windows unlike anything you’ve seen anywhere. God lies in the details here. For example, the havelis, while flanking the streets symmetrically - lean towards each other as they swoop up towards the skyline, creating a distinctive arch. If you’ve marvelled at the skyline of New York City and Rome, you have an underrated Indian rival in store! While you’re clicking away, you’re also the subject of our camera, capturing candids and precious moments for your vlog.
Your exploration of the Old City leads you through Jagdish Chowk to Gangaur Ghat, the epicentre of social life in Udaipur. A serene waterfront on the banks of Lake Pichola, it’s the city’s favourite hangout. Whether it's the 19th-century Tripolia gates, or the sight of musicians jamming spontaneously, Gangaur is the soul of Udaipur. If you’re game, you can join the local lads in printing off the stone platform, splashing right into the cool waters of Pichola! Strode into Bagore Ki Haveli next door for atmospheric shots against its frescos, mirrors, archways and cupolas. The Lotus Fountain and Kuan Chowk (well court) are particularly picturesque. Once the residence of Thakur Amarchand Badwa, the buttercup-yellow-washed limestone Bagore Ki Haveli is now a museum and cultural centre. Keep your energy levels high by fuelling up with Udaipur’s softest, most luscious gulab jamuns at the 110-years old Lala Mishthaan Bhandar.
Embark on an unconventional journey through the heart of the old city, concluding on a unique road. Even if camera-shy, stay engaged as our photographer captures spontaneous moments. The Strode e-bike and authentic props set a chic scene, rivalling any art director's vision. Professionally edited photos, delivered to your inbox within days, leave a trail of magical Udaipur memories for a lifetime.
