Discover the jewels of Lanzarote on this excursion through the north!
We start our excursion with a visit to the Monumento al Campesino, the work of César Manrique and a tribute to the work in the fields of the Lanzarote community. We continue our excursion to the former home of Omar Sharif, LagOmar, in the village of Nazareth. This is probably one of the most impressive houses you will see in the north. It is a perfect fusion of the black and red tones of the volcanic island and the white of the island's architecture.
We continue our excursion in the direction of the village of Haría, the Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees, where we stop for lunch (lunch not included in the price). After lunch, the route takes us to one of the most northern points of Lanzarote where we visit El Mirador del Rio, from where we will enjoy the incredible views of the Chinijo archipelago (Montaña Clara, Alegranza and the recently named island of La Graciosa).
The volcanic nature of Lanzarote, always present in the work of César Manrique, can be discovered in all its splendour during a visit to the Cueva de Los Verdes: the longest lava tunnel in the world. This work of César Manrique gives the sensation of entering the interior of Mother Earth, leaving unique and unforgettable sensations for all those who enter the cave. The curious thing about this tunnel lies in its natural origin, the result of lava (eruptions of the Corona volcano).
We cannot visit the north and not go to the Cactus Garden, the last open work of César Manrique, which will be our next stop. In its 5.000 m2, there are more than 1,000 different species of cactus, incredible!
Our last stop will be in the Villa de Teguise (the old capital of Lanzarote) and its Valles where on Sundays one of the most famous and visited street markets of Lanzarote is held. Don't miss the opportunity to buy local handicrafts!
