The Museum hosts two permanent collections: The first one is about animals and contains approximately 350 species of birds and mammals. The second one is about mushrooms and contains about 250 species.
The collection of animals consists of high quality stuffed birds and mammals, made by Europe's best taxidermists. Among the exhibits, there are extinct species, many endangered and rare ones.
The Mushroom Museum is one of the few in the world. Its collection includes handmade mushroom sculptures maintaining the similarity of colours, shapes and size. They are presented in three stages of development.
Animals and mushrooms are presented in dioramas, which depict exactly the natural terrain where they live and grow into.
In the Museum's souvenir store you will find the product range that the Museum has created with about 60 different mushroom and truffle products. You will taste some mushroom products and don't forget the mushroom sweet, which is a Greek innovation!
