The still active rock-hewn churches of the 12th Century attracts so many visitors and it sometimes consider as the 8th wonder of the world.
It is what we always loved to do arrange this unique tour that will satisfy our customers discovering about the hidden beauties of Ethiopia.
The churches are excavated from a sloping mass of red volcanic scoria under laid by dark grey basalt and interconnected by a maze of tunnels and passages with openings to hermit caves and catacombs the rock-hewn churches give the impression of an underground city.
Exploration of all churches of Lalibela with the Ethiopian history shall be expected.

In the morning 8:30am, You will visit the first group of the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which are carved out of living volcanic tuff with super architectural skill that the world has never seen, yet elsewhere.
UNESCO registers these churches as world heritage. Among churches of this group Bete Medahine Alem (house of the redeemer) is the largest with 5 aisles, 72 pillars, vaulted dome and moulding decoration.
Bete Mariam (house of St. Marry) is the most decorated among the rock hewn churches.
Afte Lunch 2:00pm, you will visit the second and third groups Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Last and finally, you will visit the most famous and very picturesque of all the churches: –Bet Giyorgis (St George), constructed in honour of the patron Saint George. (please note all the churches close at 6pm).
At the evening, we recommend a visit to a traditional Tej house to test the Ethiopian Honey wine & watch a live traditional Ethiopian Music.
