Experience the The Quintessence of Tonkin Show at Baara Land Entertainment Complex, located at the foot of Thay Mountain, the sacred site of Tu Dao Hanh, the founder of Vietnamese water puppetry.
As Vietnam's first outdoor live performance, The Quintessence of Tonkin Show vividly recreates the culture and spiritual life of the people from the Red River Delta. With a cast of 250 actors, it integrates poetry, music, painting, and performance. The show has earned two Guinness Vietnam records: “The largest water stage in Vietnam” and “The performance with the most farmer-actors in Vietnam (150 farmers).”
The 4,300m2 water stage is designed to resemble the Thuy Dinh (Water Pavilion) at Thay Pagoda and is surrounded by stunning, poetic natural scenery. The performance offers a deeply immersive experience, helping the audience to understand the life and culture of Northern Vietnam.
The show consists of six parts and runs for 75 minutes, featuring: Poetry, The Buddhist Realm, Nostalgia, Music & Art, Joy, and The Festival. With a contemporary approach and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, Northern Essence contributes to preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural values on a new level.
