The idyllic setting, stunning kayaking on the Nam Song River while admiring the breathtaking scenery together with the amazing opportunity discovering limestone caves, are all that you can explore when joining this Vang Vieng half-day tour.
You will transfer around 10 km north to the ethnic Khmu village of Viengsamay. After receiving a brief introduction to the basics of kayaking you will set off down the stunning Nam Song River.
Then, you will continue travelling downstream until arriving at Tham None Cave which is one of the biggest caves in Vang Vieng! Used to serve as a bomb shelter for local villagers during the Second Indochina War, however, today this Cave is considered as home to a bat family and the 'Magic Stone of Vang Vieng'. A gentle paddle downstream to Vang Vieng where you will arrive just in time to catch the magnificent sunset is the final leg of the journey.
Approximately: 15 minutes transfer, 2 hours kayaking, 1h caving
In the wet season, due to the high currents, you will start from Pathang village instead, which is 8 km further than Vieng Samay village. Two caves will be visited, Tham Xang (Elephant cave), and Tham Non (Sleeping cave), as well as the Organic Farm.
