What you can expect

Pick up: Meet us at the Patmos cruise terminal to start a guided tour of the most popular Christian sites in Patmos

Grotto of St. John, a significant site associated with the birth of the Book of Revelation—the final book in the Holy Bible. In 95 AD, during the persecution of Christians, St. John was exiled to the Island of Patmos for 16 months. It was here that the Apostle, amidst adversity, heard the voice of God, glimpsed the future, and penned the profound Book of Revelation. The small cave, now known as the
Cave of the Apocalypse, has transformed into a place of worship and a pilgrimage destination for seekers of spiritual significance.

Monastery of St. John: Our journey continues through a maze of atmospheric lanes leading to the foot of the Monastery of St. John the Theologian, a remarkable structure dating back to the 11th century. Delve into the essence of monastic life and absorb timeless history through the museum's magnificent ecclesiastical artefacts. Treasures within the monastery include frescoes depicting the founder Christodoulos and miracles of St. John, ancient documents from the 6th century, vestments, silverware, and numerous icons, including a piece attributed to El Greco.

Chora of Patmos: Next, we explore the enchanting Chora of Patmos. Wander through the winding cobbled streets, where 16th-century houses are connected by a maze of steps and lanes, adorned with small squares, snow-white chapels, and flower-filled courtyards

Simandris House: Our journey concludes with a visit to the 300-year-old Simandris House, offering a glimpse into a rich collection of antiques and architecture. This residence presents a fascinating blend of Oriental tradition and Western fashion favoured in the 19th century.

Drop off: At the end of the tour transfer you back to the ship on time
