From Glasgow we travel for 41 minutes through the countryside north east of Glasgow to Stirling, a town dominated by the magnificent Stirling Castle and some very famous battles in Scotland's history. Entrance fee to Castle £18 per adult, £11 per child.
National Wallace Monument

Just a 10 minute drive from Stirling Castle is the astonishing Wallace monument, 220 feet high, a tribute to William Wallace. With towering views over Stirling and the surrounding landscape. Entrance fee to the monument is £10.75 per adult, £6.75 per child.
Stirling Bridge

Just a 5 minute drive from The Wallace Monument and sitting below the castle, the present Stirling Bridge was built in the 1400s replacing a succession of timber bridges. In 1297 William Wallace defeated Edward 1's forces at The Battle of Stirling Bridge. Today the bridge is one of the best medieval masonry arch bridges in Scotland.
Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

Glengoyne Distillery
