Full day Tour at Cafayate:
Cafayate is a beautiful wine growing town located in the Calchaquí Valley, 183 km from the capital city of the province. The scenic route to the city takes you past incredibly shaped colourful natural formations recognised by UNESCO as a World Natural Monument. The journey starts from Salta city to the south, through route 68 traversing the Lerma Valley and its historical towns. You reach Quebrada de las Conchas, the Shell's Gorge, where wind and water erosion carved curious shapes on the rocks, the Amphitheatre, Devil's throat, the Toad, the Castles, among others. When you arrive to Cafayate, you visit some wineries, famous for their production of Torrontes, with special characteristics due to the particularities of the climate and land. After lunch you will return to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas, the Shells' Gorge and the Lerma Valley.
Full Day in Humahuaca:
Known worldwide, imposing Quebrada de Humahuaca has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This heavenly landscape of colourful hills is home to a variety of diverse, well preserved cultures. The journey leaves from Salta, first town you will visit is Purmamarca Village where time will be enough to observe the Seven Coloured Hill, the Church and the Craft Market on the square, and a small walk along its narrow streets. You continue towards the town of Tilcara where you can visit the ancient ruins of Pucará, the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera, and then you will cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colours of La Pollera del Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures taken because of the daylight. You will then visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels, important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School are kept. Arrival to Humahuaca will be at noon; this town has an important Church and the Independence Monument, the Indian, of the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch you will observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor framing the town of Maimara. You continue to San Salvador de Jujuy where the Flag Hall and the Cathedral, characterised by its pulpit carved in wood and gold and the statues of Lola Mora are visited. Finally, you will return to Salta through Vaqueros.
