What you can expect

This eye-opening day tour exposes you to some of Ecuador's most amazing natural sites. Go for a horseback ride through the flourishing volcanic crater in the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve, then visit the IntiƱan Museum at Mitad del Mundo to learn about the wonders of the Earth's equator.

In the morning, start your tour with hotel pickup and a drive to a ranch by the Pululahua Volcano. After hopping on the back of a sturdy and amicable horse, follow your guide into the Pululahua Geobotanica Reserve's ancient crater, which was created from eruptions over 2,500 years ago. The crater itself is the biggest in the American continent, and features a wide range of biodiversity that your guide points out as you trot along.

After your revealing horseback ride, enjoy lunch accompanied by a panoramic view of valleys and cloud rainforests. Your journey then takes you to Mitad del Mundo, where you can straddle the two hemispheres over the equatorial line. Step into the IntiƱan Museum and enjoy interactive exhibits that demonstrate the uniqueness of the area, such as balancing an egg on a nail and watching water go down a drain in different directions. At the end of the day, return to Quito feeling enlightened.
