What you can expect
Everest Base Camp Trek is the world's high adventure destination that leads to exploring the massive Khumbu Himalayas of Nepal. The epic trek takes you through the spectacular Khumbu Valley and to the base camp of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest. The trek starts in Lukla, a small town in the Solukhumbu district, and takes you through stunning Himalayan landscapes, remote Sherpa villages, and ancient monasteries.
The trek typically takes around 12 to 14 days to complete, depending on your pace and itinerary. During the trek, you will pass through various landmarks, such as Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, Dingboche, Gorak Shep, and finally, Everest Base Camp. You will also have the opportunity to ascend to the summit of Kala Patthar, a 5,545-meter peak that offers breathtaking views of the Everest massif. Besides, you'll reach a maximum elevation of 5545 at kalapathar viewpoint and it's the highest elevation throughout the trek. However, it's the best place to see the magnificent view of Everest and the thrilling panoramic Himalayas too.
The trek is considered to be moderate to challenging and requires a good level of fitness and preparation. Altitude sickness is also a potential risk, so it is important to acclimatise properly and listen to your body throughout the trek. Hiring a local guide and porter is recommended to ensure safety and make the trek more enjoyable.
