Located just a short 5 kilometres from Kathmandu, it is thought to be one of Lord Shiva’s homes and the many shrines on location are dedicated to him. Be sure to check out the wooded ravine, which is revered for its spiritual importance.
Swayambhunath

A religious site that has remained unchanged for over 700 years, Syambhunath is one of the most important Buddhist locations in Nepal, if not the world. With a nickname of the “Monkey Temple,” you’ll spy sacred monkeys that still live in various parts of the temple. For the best experience, walk around the stupa in a clockwise direction. As you walk, wheels fixed to the balustrade will be set in motion.

Phewa Lake, Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in the south of the Pokhara Valley. Located at an altitude of 742 m (2,434 ft), it is the second largest lake in Nepal. The lake is classified as semi-natural freshwater lake, as it is stream-fed but a dam regulates the water reserve. The reflections of mount Machhapuchhre and other mountain peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on its clean water leave everybody spellbound. Situated on an island in the lake, Barahi Temple is also popular among the tourists.

Chitwan National Park

A leisurely breakfast will start the day then it's off to the Chitwan district, a place where time has seemingly stood still. After checking into our immaculate hotel, we'll head straight to Tharu village and bear witness to the age-old techniques of building huts out of mud and planting rice paddies by hand. The afternoon will bring a guided safari in Chitwan National Park to see rhinos, leopards, crocodiles, and more and you'll be treated to a traditional dance performance in the evening. For many, the strong roots of Tharu and Chitwan are one of the highlights of our tour and a reason to come back to Nepal.
Day 5: Observe Awe-Inspiring Nature

Chitwan National Park

If Day 4 in Chitwan was about seeing, then Day 5 is about doing. With breakfast under our belts, we'll hit the river, taking a canoe ride to see the region from a different angle. Checking in with the Sauhara Elephant Breeding Centre is next, where you can expect an up close and personal visit with both massive adult and clumsy baby elephants. Our trail will again take us through Chitwan National Park in an area where monkey sightings are very likely as well as peacocks and other exotic birds.
Day 6: Nearing the end in Nagarkot

For the last full day of your Naturally Nepal tour, the first item on the agenda will be to watch a group of elephants taking a playful bath and a short nap once we've had a flavourful breakfast. Our elephant ride will head through the jungle where you'll be able to experience Chitwan's impressive nature from an insider's perspective. Day 7 will also see us travel to Nagarkot for a relaxing and peaceful finish to the trip. With towering Mount Everest in view, you'll understand why many consider Nagarkot to be the most scenic point in the country.
