Welcome to Cleveland, Ohio! This self-guided audio tour will take you through the landmarks of the city's oldest part, envisioned by land surveyor Moses Cleaveland in the 18th century.
You will start the tour looking up at the sprawling historic Tower City Centre – a complex of offices, shops, and train station with the quaint Terminal Tower on top, and meet its eccentric founders. As you turn around, you will step onto the original town centre, the Cleveland Public Square.
Strolling through the nearby Mall Park, you will hear about the 20th-century Group Plan, a development effort that shaped the heart of the city. Later, you will face the monumental City Hall, yet another vital structure with its own weird storey.
At the lakeside, you will marvel at the oddly geometrical building of the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and, if you like, get a chance to trace the evolution of the rock inside.
Also, you will swing by a cluster of theatres from the early 1920s known as the Playhouse Square and gaze at its flashy decorations. Next, you will pass by Cleveland's oldest Erie Street Cemetery, which marked the city's edge 200 years ago.
Your journey ends at the Progressive Field, the lucky home stadium of the Cleveland Indians baseball team, to narrate its rapid success storey in 1994.
Join this tour to enjoy Cleveland's main architectural draws and experience how the present blends with the past in its centuries-old city centre!
