A few hours before sunset we leave Dingle in our minibus, following the iconic Slea Head Drive. As the light softens through the evening, we stop in at a number of amazing vistas and explore atmospheric locations with our cameras and phones. Great photo opportunities are to be captured along the winding scenic road above the Atlantic Ocean and at the water’s edge on the sand at Coumeenoole Strand, under the evening light.
As well as viewing the famous meandering pathway down to Dunquin Pier and taking in the magnificent views from Clogher Head, we’ll leave the main road whenever we can to follow single lane roads and farm tracks, that access some of the secluded storm beaches and hidden rocky coves that I’ve discovered over many years as a photographer.
We'll also visit a few of the prominent ecclesiastical and archaeological sites on the western edge of the Dingle Peninsula, including the amazing 8th century Gallarus Oratory and Kilmalkedar Church, with its fascinating standing stones and carved stone cross. The tour concludes on our return to Dingle.
As this is a genuine photography and sightseeing tour led by a landscape and nature photographer, I will provide ongoing tuition and tips to improve your holiday photography with any camera or mobile phone. I am also happy to take photos of you and your group during this tour, using your camera or phone.
All the locations we visit are easily accessible using paths from the minibus and there's no strenuous walking or climbing involved.
