Spoleto
  • 2h
After lunch, you will meet the guide in Spoleto, and you will start the guided visit of this splendid city. Spoleto, the ancient capital of the Lombard dukes, is a picturesque and austere city with an ancient history; it is one of the main touristic centers in Umbria, not only for the importance of its archaeological monuments: Roman, early medieval and Renaissance, but also for the interesting cultural events that take place there. Spoleto and the Spoleto Valley have become the symbol of Umbria: of its natural charm, of its artistic beauties, of the poetry that surrounds it, of the mysticism that was lived in it and that continues to emanate from it. Spoleto will leave you breathless thanks to the richness of the city's historical and artistic heritage: Rocca Albornoziana, Ponte delle Torri, Roman Theatre, Piazza del Duomo.
Duomo di Spoleto (Pass by)
Duomo di Spoleto (Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta) is located in a picturesque square, is one of the most representative buildings of Spoleto. Built in the 12th century, it has a Romanesque façade with a magnificent Byzantine mosaic. Inside there are frescoes by Pinturicchio and the Eroli Chapel with works by Filippo Lippi.
