The sightseeing point of Portela offers a spectacular view over the North side of the island, in particular over the coastal village of Porto da Cruz. After a small break in a nice bar we continue our tour inside the Reserve Natura 2000 network, along dirt roads and trails, always with the endemic Laurel Forest surrounding the trails.
Machico

After some kilometres and some small climbs, we reach Fajã dos Rolos. Here we will take an old road down to Machico, finishing at sea level, just in time for a drink and a swim!
