The turquoise water of the lagoon is both salty and chilly, owing to its mixture of warm sea water and cool freshwater that comes from an underground source. This produces a peculiar thermocline effect, where you can feel warm sea water on the surface and colder freshwater underneath.

As the name implies, Coral Garden is a vibrant and expansive underwater field of coral formations. The area teems with a colourful variety of hard and soft corals that provide habitat for an array of marine life. The site is home to a vast diversity of fish species including clownfish, butterfly fish, parrotfish, angelfish, and many others. With crystal-clear waters, the visibility here is typically excellent, allowing snorkellers and divers to witness the bustling aquatic life in detail.

The lake is nestled among limestone cliffs, giving it a serene and somewhat mystical appearance. The name 'Barracuda' reportedly comes from a large barracuda fish that was once found in the lake, adding to its mystique. However, sightings of this fish are rare these days.

The beach is relatively small, but it's a great place to relax and enjoy the clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. The area is fringed with mangrove trees, which give it a serene and tropical feel. CYC Beach offers excellent opportunities for snorkelling as well, with a vibrant marine life to explore just a short distance from the shore. You can find a variety of fish species, colourful corals, and sometimes sea turtles in the nearby coral reefs.

The beach offers stunning views of the nearby islands and the surrounding crystal-clear waters. It's a quiet and less crowded spot compared to some other beaches in Coron, adding to its charm.
